L-Carnitine transports fatty acids out of the blood and into muscle cells, where they are burned up into energy inside the mitochondria. As a result of these properties, L-Carnitine helps reduce body fat during dieting. To achieve optimal effects L-Carnitine is best taken about 1 hour before training. This ensures that fatty acids are enlisted as energy suppliers for the duration of a high endurance workout.
